Hailing from Siauliai, Lithuania, Rokas discovered his passion for photography at the age of 15 when he first held his grandfather's film camera. Initially intrigued by its technical intricacies, this fascination quickly blossomed into an all-consuming love for capturing moments. After stints in Chicago and Dublin, Rokas settled in London in 2009 to pursue a BA in Photography, honing his focus on portraiture, a cornerstone of his current body of work.
Post-graduation, Rokas delved into assisting accomplished photographers like Ben Toms, Matt Irwin, and Willy Vanderperre, all while nurturing his personal freelance endeavors. Rokas' wanderlust-infused perspective manifests in his hallmark style—natural, exquisite, and elegantly simplified photography. His portfolio graces the pages of esteemed publications like How To Spend It, The Last Magazine, Vogue Russia, Harper’s Bazaar, and ES Magazine. Notable commercial endeavors include collaborations with Net-A-Porter, Boucheron, Harrods, ELV Denim, and M.I.H Jeans.
In tandem with his photographic endeavors, Rokas has ventured into the realm of filmmaking. His inaugural feature-length documentary, 'Rūta', made its cinematic debut in February 2018.
